How do you keep your kitchen clean in Victorian London?
Why, with a hedgehog of course! Victorian kitchens could be filthy places, full of soot, steam and grease - this would attract all sorts of critters, from beetles to fleas and cockroaches. To try and keep the pests away, Victorians were advised to employ a hedgehog, which would live in the kitchen and eat up all the creepy-crawlies.
